This block, LACED STAR, is from Maggie Malone's book "1001 Patchwork Designs." It is listed as #335. It is a public domain quilt block and if anyone knows the date of its first appearance, please let me know! It is a wonderful block as it gives the illusion of interweaving star points. It is pieced in four sections. The four sections are in the shape of quarter-square triangles. Please note the dark diagonal lines on each of the two paper piecing patterns . These are the cutting lines for the four sections.
