Tessellating Stars - 3 Hour Class
All Skill Levels. Sewing Machine Class

Discover the mystery to these centuries old interlocking designs. If you can sew a straight line you can recreate your own Tessellating Stars quilt. "How did you do that?" will be the response of all who see your quilt, but only you will have the secret!

The Tessellating Star pattern is a variation on the Railfence block. With the addition of a two-part central log sliced on the diagonal, composed of two colors, when these blocks are set side by side they create a fascinating illusion of the complex as the stars interlock.

Debby covers a little history and adds a lot of visual eye-candy with quilt samples galore of a variety of easy sewing quilts that mystify the viewer. Our class project will be to sew four 12" blocks of a two-color quilt, with borders added if time permits.

Our class project will be to sew four 12" blocks of a TWO COLOR QUILT, with borders added if time permits. The quilt above on the right uses 16 blocks and is from my book Black, Bold & Beautiful Quilts.
