Batik Fans Pieced on Coffee Filters©


6 Hour Class.

Yes, you read that right! We will use large size, round coffee filters as our foundation paper to piece these eye-popping fans. No need for a compass, pre-printed patterns, or special computer software programs. Just a pencil, ruler and coffee filter and you're on your way to a show-stopping quilt. Bring all those leftover 2-1/2" strips of batiks you've been saving!

$5 Pattern Fee includes: Color picture of project, multi-page handout with full, illustrated instructions; coffee filters, patterns

Fabric Supplies for a 12 Block Quilt:

Block Size: 6"
1/2 yard black multi-print or other color of your choice for background
1/8 yard batik for inner border
Two LONG quarters (9" x 42") of contrasting fabric for border and binding
Several fat eighths or fat quarters and/or 2-1/2" leftover strips variety of batiks
Invisible nylon thread for machine top stitching
Two 8-1/2" x 11" sheets of freezer paper (I'll have a supply on hand)
