1. MACHINE QUILTING: Basics & Beyond Using Debby's KISS Method (Keep It Small & Simple), discover how liberating free-motion machine quilting can be. Discuss threads, batting and basting, then do lots of PRACTICE. Doodles, swirls, curves and other simple shapes gently guide you into this exciting world. Excellent for both beginning and intermediate level free-motion quilters. See 18" Sample here

2. SUGARLOAF JEWELS (37" X 43") - Discover the fun of this no-template,  no fabric waste, no bias-edged quilt block - no kidding! Stack your pre-cut BATIK squares and slice them using a freezer paper cutting guide. The piecing results yield traditional looking blocks made with today's color drenched fabrics. The 37" x 43" quilt is composed of 12 blocks and is a great size to "test drive" this technique that Debby calls Magic Stax©. See the larger quilt that inspired this: Sugarloaf Jewels #1.

3. IMPROVISATIONAL ADVENTURE QUILT - BUILDING BLOCKS OF COLOR: Fun for the quilter who is not timid about cutting and stitching without a fixed pattern, and enjoys the thrill of designing on the go. If you experienced "No Sneaky Peaky" last year, no worries - this class employs different exercises and, of course, yields different results. No templates, no patterns, and lots of inspiration help make your quiltmaking a personal, creatively satisfying process. See Improv Adventure Quilt #1 here; Quilt #2 here. See the 4 Gee's Bend interpretive quilts I made that inspired this class.

4. BATIK BRAID QUILT- (37" X 47") - Sewing with ONLY half-hexagon shaped patches, this braid quilt is a dream to put together! There is NO trimming of excess fabric on the sides as is the case with other patterns. You build your rows from the bottom up which creates the chevron appearance. The acrylic half-hexagon template is included in the kit, along with the pre-cut strips to get you sewing right away. Very fun and a perfect project to use with all your scraps at home! See the bigger quilt that appeared in Fons & Porter's magazine here.

5. HEXAGON SPIDERWEB: (48" x 54") - Nothing spooky about this spiderweb! Sew THREE strips together and then cut into 60 degree triangle shapes to create a fabulous - and very easy - quilt. No set-in seams, no odd-shaped templates, all straight seam sewing. The multi-size acrylic template is provided in your kit (because we know you will want to make more than one of these quilts!)

***My kits are made with ONLY the very best quilt shop fabric.
